Satin Spar and Selenite are commonly confused, and while they have the same properties and are both part of the Gypsum family, they are different. Satin Spar refers to the more popular “Selenite” that is silky white. True Selenite is colorless and transparent. They are known as being highly spiritual stones, protecting from energy vampire, psychic attacks, and other negativity. Place around the home, wear, or carry for protection. It also cleanses and charges other stones. Selenite is said to be more powerful, however whichever one you’re most drawn to and your intentions will impact that as well. Satin Spar and Selenite are associated with the crown chakra. The Gypsum family is water soluble, wiping with a damp cloth to cleanse and dust should be fine but care should be taken to avoid running water and submerging. It can be used in spells for calm, communication, decisions, emotions, harmony, inspiration, motivation, peace, and respect.
